The night sky and the views were spectacular, and the inn itself felt quaint and quiet. Dave, the innkeeper, was incredibly helpful, and we enjoyed spending time talking with him. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Gavilan, with great hiking trails right out the back door and a spectacular property. Dave Emery and his staff were professional, kind, and took care of every need. Can’t wait to return!

We stayed for three nights last fall just before they closed for the season, so this review is long overdue. The location is amazing, and there’s history everywhere. At night you can see every star, with the moon over the Tooth of Time. The staff were awesome and easy to reach, yet we hardly saw them. We can’t wait to return to this serene, lovely, inviting inn!

We got out on some trails before bed, and the cheese board was divine. The innkeeper was very kind and helpful. Such a beautiful place to stay, with an atmosphere that feels calm and breathtaking.

The patio was a lovely spot to have a meal or a glass of wine, and at night the sky was dark enough to see the Milky Way. The views of the Tooth of Time were second to none. There was no human noise at all, just crickets and the occasional thunder from a nearby lightning storm. Dave was very accommodating with our requests and switched off all the outdoor lights nearby so we could see the sky better. Michelle, the innkeeper, made us feel at home, and cooked a delicious breakfast, especially the homemade apple fritters. The service was superb, and the whole visit felt like being at home away from home. We stayed three days and two nights in this secluded, quiet, private place, and can’t wait to come back in colder weather, hopefully to sit by a warm fire.
