Best Western Plus Hannaford Inn & Suites

We had plenty of space in the two-room suite, and it was a comfortable stay overall. The kitchenette came with a sink, but no utensils; there was a note saying we could ask the front desk for them. The couch was also pretty worn.

The breakfast was pretty good, and our room was a nice size with a clean bathroom, though the interior looked a bit dated. We arrived Monday and left Saturday morning. Housekeeping never came during that time. I asked on Thursday night, but the room still wasn’t cleaned or even checked.

The kitchenette listing was a little misleading. There’s a sink, microwave, fridge, and a bit of cabinet space, but no stovetop. The room also struggled to stay cool, though it was around 93 while we were there. The bed was mostly comfortable, and I liked the internet, breakfast, workout room, and pool, even though the pool needed skimming. I’d come back if I’m in the area.

I’m sitting in my car crying, trying to figure out where I and my three children can stay in the rain, after paying $300 for a room. Our home flooded, and I booked here because we needed somewhere to go. The elevators were out all day, but they put us on the fourth floor even though I’d told the front office I have three small children, including one still in a car seat and stroller. When I called from the hallway to ask about the elevator, the man just said yes, it was down. I had to carry my child down several flights of stairs with a 50-pound stroller. When I reached the bottom, I asked for a manager and asked what accommodation she could offer while the elevator was out. She kept saying she couldn’t control the elevators and that no one would help even if I called, which wasn’t what I was asking. She had a nasty attitude right away. When I said her professionalism was off, she told me she didn’t care what my job was. I asked if she would help carry my child up and down the stairs, and she said, “No, that’s not my child.” I feel unsafe and uncomfortable. If I ask for my money back, it won’t go straight back to my card, and then my kids and I would be homeless in 45-degree rain. This has been the worst experience of my life. I’ve never had service this horrible, and I want to know who owns this hotel branch. I have video of the whole interaction. I hate the idea of posting it on social media, but the young woman encouraged me to do that in a way that felt antagonistic. As a Black person, having the police called on me is terrifying. One lie or one call could have meant racial profiling or us getting hurt, while they kept the room money. Please don’t stay here if you’re a person of color or have children with you. I would never recommend this location. I won’t let this go until it’s resolved.
