Fairfield By Marriott Inn & Suites Cincinnati Oakley

I’m a Bon Voy platinum elite member and stay at a lot of Marriott hotels. This one falls well short. The building and room are nice, but the staff do the property a dis service. Floors were dirty, things in the rooms were broken, and staff didn’t help or seem to care. Zero stars from me. I’d never return.

The rooms are very nice and the hotel is new, but the TVs have a serious tech problem. There’s so much lag and streaming disruption that you can’t count on watching anything. This is my second of three weeks here. The first week was horrendous, and when I checked in today hoping it had improved, it hadn’t. I’m not planning to stay for a third week. It may be an issue with the third-party provider, and I brought it up with the manager last week. They definitely tried to make it right with extra points, but there’s only so much that helps on a business trip during March Madness when the internet lag makes it impossible to watch the games. As a Bonvoy platinum member, this situation is unacceptable.

It was a bad stay all around. The front desk staff had no customer service skills: the young woman who checked me in had an attitude and seemed unsure of what she was doing, and the different woman at checkout also seemed like she didn’t want to be there. My room was just meh. One light flickered and wouldn’t turn on, and the bed was uncomfortable. I stayed at Homes2Suites Hilton next door the following night, and it was the complete opposite, for less money.

I’ve stayed here a few times because it’s new and close to my work, and I’d like to see it improve. The service is good, but the rooms aren’t always cleaned well. One time there was hair all over the shower and on the bed.
