I booked room 218, an ADA room, for my mom and me from February 27 to March 2, 2026. We traveled with my cat. The hotel is pet friendly, and she loved watching birds, people, and whatever else from the second-floor window. The room itself was a bit too small for us. My mom uses a walker, and we kept getting in each other’s way. The first shower on Saturday was awful, as it seemed everyone got up to shower at once. The shower wand was confusing too. The pull-up knob was above the main shower head, and it took me ages to figure it out. Mom couldn’t reach it because she’s short and has trouble reaching things due to her disability. Showers were much better and hotter on Sunday and Monday. The carpet made it hard for Mom to get into bed, and she kept slipping on it. All three nights I had to help her into bed and move her over, which I don’t normally have to do at home. Other than the first night, she slept very well once she was settled and comfortable. I slept horribly, maybe 12-16 hours total across the three nights. The beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were just okay, and I couldn’t sit up comfortably in bed to watch TV, which I sometimes need to do for acid reflux. The detergent used on the sheets made my skin itch badly. That’s why I gave it four out of five stars. Breakfast changed each day. On Saturday I saw watery-looking oatmeal and eggs, possibly powdered or pre-scrambled. I tried the eggs, and they weren’t bad with a little salt. There was one waffle maker, but five to ten children plus adults were using it, so I skipped it. Sunday had oatmeal again, an omelette with peppers and maybe onions that was really good, and chicken sausage that I didn’t expect to like but found okay. I didn’t feel like making a waffle that day. On Monday there was oatmeal, a really good cheese omelette, and bacon that looked crispy but was unusually thin, fell apart, and wasn’t crisp. I had a waffle, one of the better ones I’ve had, even better than some at Waffle House. Every day there was orange juice, a mixed juice whose name I forget, and another drink, plus light-blend and decaf coffee, assorted teas, hot chocolate powder, and hot water. They also had what looked like beagle, toast, blueberry scones, muffins, and hard-boiled eggs. I didn’t try the muffins or eggs, but the other baked items were amazing, especially the blueberry scones. Mom ate breakfast Saturday but didn’t like it much and skipped Sunday. On Monday she tried a bite of my cheese omelette, thought it wasn’t bad, and got one herself. One thing that turned the trip around for me was the cleaning staff. Since I was traveling with Mom, I asked if I could leave the disposable cat litter trays behind, and they said yes. I’m the only one who can take things out of the car between us, so being able to leave them in the room meant the world to me. My trip started out at two out of five stars and ended at four because of that.

We’d always liked this place over the many times we stayed here in the past 10 years, so this visit was a shock. The rooms smelled of mildew and were very dark, and the furniture was old. Half the bedside table was broken. In the mornings, the cleaning staff were noisy, laughing and repeatedly shutting their door so ours would vibrate. The property has really gone downhill and needs a complete update. Very disappointed.

The rooms are very nice and clean, though the hallway paint could use some freshening up. Check-in was easy, the staff were friendly, and breakfast had a good selection and tasted very good. I had a very nice stay.

The room was clean, and the staff were wonderful. They’ve repainted and refreshed some areas, though a few spots are still beat up. I’d stay again.

The staff at the hotel were kind and professional, and the place is budget friendly. Service gets four stars from me because of them. But after clean stays before, this weekend was different. The hallway carpets looked like they hadn’t been steamed or cleaned properly, the rooms felt sticky or gummy, and the blankets and sheets seemed low quality. The cleaning staff need retraining. With so many other hotel choices in this area, I have to wonder why we should keep giving this location our business.
