1000 Islands Harbor Hotel

Check-in was quick, the staff were welcoming, and the room was clean with really plush linens. The view was lovely too. But I don’t think the beds in room 313 are queens. I’ve slept on queen mattresses for 25 years, and these felt too small. I measured them, and both were 54 inches wide by 75 inches long, which is a full-size bed measurement. Since my wife and I are tall, and I’m not slim, we didn’t sleep well. I think this should be listed as a Full Room with view, not a Queen Room with view.

We come here at least 1-2 times a year, and the view is the best in the north country. Clayton makes the trip even better. The restaurant serves awesome food, and there’s a lot for the money. The pool and hot tub are beautiful. We had one or two small room issues, but Joanne the manager sorted them out quickly. Great amenities, staff, and service at this excellent 5 diamond hotel. You won’t be disappointed.

Susan, the concierge, was super helpful, and there’s coffee and tea on every floor in the morning. We also liked the restaurant’s outdoor seating, and the restaurant and bar are both great. The hotel is right on the St. Lawrence River, so it’s fun watching the big ships go by. It’s a classy, solid 4 star place, about a 3 minute walk from Clayton’s business district, with its many nice restaurants.

It’s a really nice hotel with great staff, though the room doors slam loudly at all hours and you can hear conversations in the hall. Some padding or weatherstripping around the doors could quiet things down. There’s no way to open a window for fresh air, since there are no screens and the outside of the windows is covered with spider webs and bugs. A few small improvements would make the stay better.
