The scenery alone makes you feel relaxed and far away. It's close enough to the freeway and major cities for an easy weekend trip, but distant enough to feel remote. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. We were a large group, and the conference rooms worked for our purposes. The gym isn't in the main hotel, so getting there on cold mornings is a bit of a jaunt. I'd recommend Suncadia.

Our River View Bedroom Suite was beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing, and the staff were genuinely excellent throughout our stay. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and professional. The resort itself is lovely, but it was harder than expected to get around, with multiple gates and a confusing, maze-like layout. Only one elevator was working while we were there. We chose the resort partly because of EV charging. Before booking, we called to confirm and an AI system said there were 10+ chargers. When we arrived, the only compatible option for our vehicle required valet service, and we didn't have a valet key. There was also a charger in the parking area that didn't seem to be properly monitored during the nights we stayed. That inaccurate information caused unnecessary stress. The fireplace also gave us trouble, and we had to call for help more than three times. They accommodated our service dog, but I understood they'd provide a bed and bowls, and that didn't happen. We packed accordingly, but maybe make sure to clarify.

We arrived at 7 pm, and nearly four hours later we were exhausted from travel with no safe place for our three-month-old to sleep. The website said cribs were available, so I requested one, but there wasn't one in the room. Housekeeping took an hour to bring a heavily soiled pack and play, with vomit and poop on it. I asked for a clean one or one with a fitted sheet. Another hour later they brought a replacement that was just as stained and also torn, with the interior fiberglass showing. Their only solution was a loose sheet or blanket for the baby, which is unsafe sleep and a huge suffocation risk. My husband and I ended up taking turns holding her overnight and sleeping in shifts. We'll buy our own pack and play tomorrow. This has been an absolute disaster and a lesson learned for our first trip with a baby. Edit: The man at the front desk has been lovely and is clearly trying his best.

The staff were the real highlight of our first stay at the lodge, and we'll be back. During a very busy spring break week, our room wasn't ready until almost 6 pm, which had my young children melting down. The staff were lovely and professional, and offered a small resort credit so we could get something in the lounge while we waited. It was frustrating, but they were doing their best. Our ground-floor one-bedroom hot tub suite was much better stocked than we expected. The 'kitchenette' was nearly a full kitchen, just without an oven, and there was a washer and dryer, a great surprise. One thing to note: the website photos showed a shower and separate tub for our room category, but our room only had a shower. That's tough with small kids. Luckily, my parents' room had a tub, so I could bathe my children there. Call ahead if you need a tub. We ate all our meals in the Lodge, and the food at the Source was generally very good, though expect resort prices. The pool and fitness center staff deserve a big shout-out. They were likely teens, but were professional, kind, and exceptionally attentive to keeping children safe around the very packed pools, hot tubs, and slides. As a Hyatt Globalist, I didn't get the usual perks because this is a Destination by Hyatt resort, though I still got credit for nights and spend, and the resort fee was covered. I also had a dreamy massage at the spa and enjoyed using the spa amenities for a couple of hours afterward. It was a really wonderful stay.

Our house was beautiful, and the little community is pretty awesome, with trails, golf courses, riding trails, and plenty more. Definitely a good place for a relaxing vacation.
