The standout was the staff, especially at the front desk. They were some of the nicest people I’ve encountered, and very helpful. I’m a Hilton Lifetime Diamond member, and at the Embassy Suites in Greenville SC, one receptionist argued with me and was surly, even telling me I wasn’t a Diamond member. What a difference staying at the Tru by Hilton. It’s a new, modern, clean hotel. Rooms run a little smaller than standard Hilton rooms, but the complimentary breakfast has a nice rotating selection: scrambled eggs one day, omelets the next, bacon or sausage, boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, and good coffee, tea, or chocolate drinks.

Katie was such a sweetheart when I called the front desk because I couldn’t sleep and wanted tea to help. There wasn’t any left, but she kindly brought a bunch up to my room. I’d just had foot surgery and picked this place to rest for a day before we drove home. The room was clean and easy to get around in, and everyone was kind and accommodating.

We stayed during the week and it was pretty quiet. The single king room was ADA friendly and had a decent TV, but no carpet and nowhere for two people to sit and watch except the bed. The rooms and facility are clean and modern. Pool cues were decent, and breakfast was okay. Kids will like the automatic pancake maker.

Whether you’re visiting for vacation or having a staycation, Tru is a great place to stay. The rooms are amazing and the staff are second to none. Take my word for it, you won’t get better treatment anywhere else.
