Baldwin's Retreat

The lake view is breathtaking, and the rooms were very clean. The staff were friendly too. A great place to stay all around.

From the living room and dining area, the lake view is just lovely. We stayed in the lower unit, the cabana, and really liked it. There are two bedrooms, plus a sofa that works as a daybed. Kids could use it or the lower bunk, though I wouldn't put two adults on either. The kitchen had everything we needed for a few meals, and there was a nice barbecue for each unit. Plenty of bedding and linens, with tasteful decor and thoughtful little details throughout. They'd even added Christmas touches. We didn't try the pool, but it looked like it would be a great place to relax, with lots of seating and a view of the kids from indoors or outside. The fake fireplace made the evenings feel especially nice. The family who owns the resort seemed kind. I hope business goes well for them, and I know I'll come back.

Baldwins Retreat is a clean, warm, family-oriented place for vacation rentals, and it's pet friendly. They're making some great upgrades. Outside, there's now a shower and a dishwashing station, plus a nice black metal fence around the front and sides with lockable gates. A sprinkler system has been installed, and they're redoing the pool for summer. The three cottages have improvements too. The upstairs unit has new vinyl flooring in the kitchen and bathroom, updated fixtures, fresh grout on the kitchen counter, a bigger bed in the front room with more pillows, extra outdoor lighting, and new patio furniture for the yard. They're also going to spread new grass seed soon. The kitchens now have new utensils, pots and pans, bakeware, a teapot, and an ice maker in all three units. The cottage by the pool has a new sitting area with patio furniture, and the railing has been redone. It looks amazing. They've also added some bright accessories inside, a new coffee table, and a swamp cooler for hot summer days.
