Shephard's Beach Resort

My friends and I used to come here nearly every weekend from '15-'21. The rooms were amazing, the atmosphere matched, and the customer service was great. I haven’t stayed since 2017, so I don’t know if anything has changed, but when we arrived they gave us wristbands for free entry to the nightclub. All four of my friends got one too. There’s a restaurant, but we never got around to eating there. We just had bar food now and then, though other people have told me good things about the restaurant. There was usually a live band playing through the day and bringing a good vibe. At night, the music and atmosphere were hard to beat. Inside was an 18-and-up club, with a 21-and-up area outside. They used to stay open until 3am, but that’s changed. I think there are three bars outside, easy to get to, plus a dance floor in front of the stage. There’s also a small beach area where you can walk out and look at the gulf. They warn guests about loud music until 2am, but it’s absolutely worth it. Sheps is the best 🙌

I’ve been coming to this hotel as a local for 20 years, and the beautiful upgrades have made it even nicer. The location is perfect, with something fun always going on. We like having drinks by the pool and taking a dip in the ocean. My favorite rooms are the ones with water views, and the views are great. Sheppard's also supports our local school fundraiser and gives back to the community. For a much-needed vacation where you can enjoy yourself, this is the place.

Shephard's feels like a great choice for the price. The rooms were clean, the employees were lovely, and there are great views right on the strip. With several bars and live music, plus a two-story indoor dance club, it has more of an adult feel. Seems especially suited to a couples' trip or a getaway with friends. My sister was visiting from NY and loved the beach and palm trees. She said, "this feels like Florida!" We’ll definitely return.

We were happy with the stay, and the food was very good. We ate every meal on the premises and also tried several drinks, which were great. The staff were all courteous and friendly. A couple of things felt picky for what we paid, $400 a night. I was told I couldn’t bring my own drink in a safe container into the pool area, though drinks bought there were fine. Also, I was smoking a cigar about five feet from another man who was smoking, but I was singled out and told there was no smoking. They said it was okay just outside the gate, only six feet away.
