Gulf Way Inn

This was my second stay, and management accommodated my family at a moment’s notice. The rooms and linens were clean and fresh. The building is old and the rooms are definitely dated, but I’ve never seen any bugs or anything dangerous. The pool is clean and open during normal hours. You get what you pay for, and this place is the best bang for your buck. There’s food and a grocery store nearby, and it’s less than 30 minutes from Clearwater Beach and the surrounding beaches.

The room and linens were clean, and the location was convenient and quiet. I’d stay again.

It’s a basic economy motel. Cleanliness was good overall, and the rooms looked decent, though I didn’t check them with a UV light. I stayed for three days within the last two months in a kitchenette. Prostitution and drugs are common. Management is strict, and I can see why, but they’re too strict with paying guests. They don’t let guests hang out outside the rooms. I wonder how people using the pool are treated. Keeping control matters, but over-policing doesn’t help.

We’d stayed here a few times with the same number of people, eleven, and had no issue before. Today, the man working had a huge attitude and claimed I had too many kids, which wasn’t true. He seemed ready to yell at me and then hung up. Guess they have new owners or something. We won’t be back.
