The room was okay for the price, though traffic from I-40 could be heard through the night. What bothered me most was the communication after we left a pair of pants in the closet by accident. We contacted the hotel as soon as we noticed. I understood the privacy rules around occupied rooms and never asked to enter one. I only wanted staff to check, ask the current guest, or look in lost and found. We were basically told to call back at 11 AM the next day, with little reassurance or follow-up. At the time, it seemed nobody was very concerned about finding the pants. Management later said housekeeping had found them and put them in lost and found, but that information hadn’t reached the staff we spoke with. It caused confusion and frustration, and meant another trip back to the hotel even though the item was apparently already stored there. That’s inconvenient for travelers and people who live farther away. My complaint was about the service and communication, not the privacy policy. The public response to my original review wrongly suggested I had demanded to enter an occupied room, which I never did. It wasn’t the worst stay, but customer service and communication could be much better.
