M Star Hotel Cleveland

I booked one night and ended up staying for another. The room was spacious enough, clean, and a little dated, with no frills, which was fine. It had a microwave, a decent-sized refrigerator, a desk, chair, and dresser. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in while traveling, and the shower had hot water and great pressure. I’d stay again.

The hotel was only about five minutes from my family’s home, but I can’t recommend it. The emergency door lock was broken, and the sheets had yellow stains. I stripped both beds and remade the one I slept in. There were blood stains on the bottom box spring cover, and I woke up with a bed bug on the bed. No one came into the office that night or answered the phone after I checked in, and the room phone didn’t work. I told the man at the office the next morning. He said to call Monday, but I tried to reach management from Monday through Wednesday and got nowhere. A worker on Wednesday offered me $20 back, not a full refund. I paid cash because the man offered a lower rate for cash, and I don’t know how they’d even return that money.

Great location, and the rooms are big, but they’re dusty and the sheets need bleaching. We could hear the guests next door through the walls, which is odd given they’re brick. We heard clapping cheeks and moaning.

You can hear other guests through the cinder block walls, which seemed strange. The place smelled of disinfectant and was clean enough for an overnight stay. The first key card worked once, then we needed another, but that sort of thing happens. There were three of us, so we asked for extra towels. There’s a grocery store, Walgreens, and Huddle House across the street. The bathroom towel bar is bent and painted yellow like the walls and ceiling, so it could use replacing. Dust is visible on the ceiling above the beds, especially over the bed near the AC and door, and it needs a Swiffer.
