The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well stocked in this recently renovated historic building. We’ve stayed many times, and the great staff, competitive pricing, and Hilton benefits have made us feel welcome and at ease. The shuttle drivers were especially kind and helpful, making trips to and from Cleveland Clinic easy. I can’t say much about the food because the flatbread was so good that it’s all I ate. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety. It might be nice to have eggs cooked to order, though.

The staff really are great. They’re friendly, brilliant, and the right people for the place. Still, the hotel itself doesn’t justify what it costs. For me, its historic setting is the only thing that makes it a $150-a-night hotel. I wouldn’t pay more than $80. The room lacked basic amenities: no mini fridge or microwave. Maybe I’m lucky, but I thought those were standard these days, especially at a Hilton property. The windows are paper thin in this 100-year-old building, and with the medical campus across the street, sirens kept coming all night, sometimes every hour or more. I’m here for cancer treatment, so I understand the emergency traffic, but anyone hoping to sleep and relax should be prepared for the noise. Parking was around $27 a day, and no one told me until after I checked in. Breakfast was basic, bad hotel food, and cost $18 per person extra. The restaurant was bad too. The website shows a caprese salad with risotto and a fine-dining feel, but in reality it’s more like TGI Fridays, and the food is subpar. That’s not the North staff’s fault. The hotel should do better.

I’m here for almost a month for doctor appointments at Cleveland Clinic, after coming for a kidney transplant, and I can’t wait to leave. In 24 hours they made us move twice. This was our first stay here, and it’ll be our last. Don’t be fooled by the website pictures or customer service. It’s not worth it. It’s December, so I expected the heat to work, but the room is freezing. They brought a space heater, and after ten minutes it blew the breakers. Then they moved us to an even colder room. I don’t want to get sick from the cold. With the price and location, you expect something nice, but this has been a terrible environment. Some staff members are nice, others are awful. The restaurant is listed as open from 4 p.m. on the website, but it actually opens at 6 and is always out of food. Before Christmas, housekeeping left a note saying they’d come clean, but nobody showed up or even checked. When I called the front desk, they didn’t want to bring towels, so we had to get them ourselves. I had to clean the room and bathroom too, since all they did was wipe the mirrors. The one bright spot was Madeline from housekeeping, the Spanish girl. She was kind and cleaned like it was her own home.

We planned on three nights but left after the first. The toilet wouldn’t flush, and the bed frame and headboard were badly torn. The room was awful, though maybe the low price should have prepared me. The staff weren’t helpful or service-minded. The hotel could be beautiful, and you can tell it used to be, which makes its current state a shame. If all you need is a place to sleep, the price may suit you.

The room was spacious, updated, and still had the building’s charm, and the building itself is beautiful. It was mostly clean, though the floor could have used a sweep. The AC didn’t seem to work, and seeing so many earlier reviews mention it makes me think this keeps happening. I came for a wedding, but the staff made me unlikely to return. Most people I spoke with were unfriendly, and even checking in felt like I was a bother. The place could be lovely if they addressed the hospitality.
