It was a terrible stay, and I've been in Motel 6s that were better. There was no trash can in the bathroom, and the toilet was backed up when I arrived. They made me come downstairs to get a plunger and unclog it myself. I also found 2 roaches in the bathroom. Worst hotel I've ever been in.

I liked the people working here, and the rooms and amenities were as advertised. Hotels in Clinton are generally overpriced because there aren't many alternatives. Travelers lodge has regular trucker guests and some interesting little quirks for them. The front desk has excellent hot coffee available all the time, which is the way to do it. A coffee machine in the room would be nice, though I brought my own. Prices are probably exorbitant, but I booked through an app and saved $30 a night. All good.

Whenever work brings me to town, this is where I stay. I spent two weeks here this time, and my room has always been clean. The staff are friendly, and even though I've only been on the first floor, nights have been pretty quiet. I don't get the complaints about the regular workers staying here. They're friendly and keep to themselves. The gym is better equipped than places that offer only a treadmill and a bike. Walmart, food, gas, and other basics are all nearby.

The people at the desk were pleasant, and the room was clean and fine for an older place, though it hadn't had a deep clean. I couldn't control the shower temperature properly, it was either hot or cold. I managed to get it tolerable, but my wife wouldn't have been okay with it. There weren't any cups for water, either. I mentioned the shower at checkout and learned I wasn't the first to have that problem. I'd stay again at the same price if I were by myself, but if my wife came along, I'd look for a 4- or 5-star place. Seems like getting anything right costs a fortune these days.
