The rooms may be lacking in some ways, but the hotel more than made up for it for us. Breakfast was one of the best we've had from a hotel chain, with lots of freshly made choices. The pool was clean and inviting, the staff were friendly, and the rooms were large with soft towels. The hot shower had strong water pressure and was so relaxing it put us right into sleep mode. Great price, too. We'd happily drive out of our way to stay here, and neither of us would be disappointed.

There was food on the floor and hair in the tub, and strange noises kept waking me through the night. The internet cut out for a while and the TV kept switching on and off. The pool was mostly nice and wasn't cold, though there were some dead bugs in it.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived. The motel manager called out from her office that she'd be out in a minute, so I waited. When she came, she asked me for her name. I gave her the name on the reservation, and after that she had an attitude, so I gave her one right back. We stay in Clinton once a week at the Hampton Inn and have never had a problem. We love it there. This motel room was disgusting. It had a damp, musty smell, and I didn't even want to walk around in my socks, so luckily I'd packed slippers. My husband and I went out to dinner and left our puppy dogs in the room. I didn't want them sleeping on that filthy floor. It didn't look or smell clean at all. When we got back, my husband showered while I went to Walmart to get things I'd forgotten at home. Around 7:30 or 8, we were getting ready for bed when we spotted a bug in the bathroom sink. My husband called it a black water bug. I don't care what kind it was, it was disgusting. I slept badly, and the outlets by my side of the bed didn't work, though the lights did. We won't come back. Not impressed.

We arrived after 6:30 pm for a single night and had booked a double queen room. The room on the second floor was adequately clean, and the beds, pillows, and linens were comfortable. Despite the hotel's busy location, it was remarkably quiet. We left early the next morning, so we didn't use the shower or toiletries. The location worked perfectly for our early departure and breakfast somewhere else.
