Shawano Four Seasons Hotel

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it used to be our regular go to place. I’ve always loved it, but this visit the room had a bad, musty basement smell.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, though I’ve heard it’s decent. The main draw for me is El Jefe restaurant. We try to stop in for a meal a couple of times a month.

The Chamber suggested only two places to stay, one of them the Four Seasons. Shawano is a vacation destination, so I was surprised the hotels didn’t seem to compete for excellence. Still, we felt safe and comfortable here. The room was very clean, the staff helpful and friendly, and I was glad to see a housekeeper mopping a vacated room. The pool and whirlpool were clean, with the floors cleaned every morning, and the temperatures were very good. The room keys worked easily, and we slept well in a quiet room with no noise from neighbors. A few small things: there was no decaf in the room, so you had to ask for it in the lobby in the morning; nothing was available to drink in the lobby before morning; the first floor ice machine wasn’t working; and the microwave by the pool was missing its plate.

We had such a fun time on our first visit, on a Monday. My fiancé and I loved chatting with the great manager, hanging out in the fun pool area, and even hiking outside in the middle of December. The manager went out of her way to show us the beautiful special rooms too. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for an amazing time, Four Seasons ❤️‼️😎
