The hot tub was so relaxing, and breakfast was delicious. Everything was beautiful and cozy, and our stay turned out even better than we'd imagined. The workers were extremely nice and welcoming. I definitely recommend visiting in winter, and we'll absolutely be back in summer!

The hotel was very clean, and the staff were professional and friendly. The bar service was great, the food there was fabulous, and Richard the bar manager was fantastic. The hotel met all my expectations. Dinner at Rebecca’s restaurant was a big disappointment, though. The price was very high, portions were very, very small, and the choices were limited. That's the last time I'll eat there.

The mountain setting was amazing, and I enjoyed my stay. Seeing the elk roaming and the deer herds was beautiful. The whole place is old and clearly historic, and knowing that going in, you'll have a great time. Be sure to explore all the floors. It's a really cool building, though it could use some updating. We stayed in the retreat house, which had a lovely open living area with a kitchen where the four of us could hang out, plus four connected rooms. The restaurant food was good. Service was really great too, the front desk staff were kind and helpful.

The staff made our wedding stay feel special, welcoming everyone and going out of their way to help us. Huge thanks to Jonathan, such a kind man and a fearless leader. The Lodge is gorgeous and clearly well cared for, with a lovely mix of modern touches and old charm. I can't recommend it enough, even if you're only passing through.

The quiet, calming atmosphere and comfortable bed were a real relief after some awful Air B and B stays. Of all the places we've stayed in Cloudcroft, this was the best, and the Christmas decorations were lovely. We may stay at The Lodge again, and I hope they can address the leadership and staffing problems, because it has real potential as a destination for visitors. We were glad to find a room after deciding on a spur-of-the-moment trip the day after Christmas, but cleanliness was a letdown. It looked nice at first, though there was trash under the nightstand, dirt around the baseboards, and a really grimy counter where the coffee pot sat. We also saw shavings near the bathroom baseboards, which made us wonder if there might be termites. The fabric walls aren't my idea of good hotel decor either. Breakfast was poor on both mornings. We came down around 9:00 the first day and found very little on the buffet, and what was there wasn't appealing. The next day's spread was just as bad, maybe worse. The hotel seems badly understaffed, and I felt for the few employees trying to keep up with the breakfast crowd. One man was there around the clock, giving it everything he had, and we appreciated him. At the bar, the staff seemed annoyed to help and were rude and uncaring, which shocked me. Guests are there to unwind and have a drink, so the bar staff needs a lot of improvement.
