La Quinta Inn Clute Lake Jackson

We left as soon as we could. The room was old, nothing like the picture, and the amenities were terrible. When I needed my keycard recoded, I waited 25 minutes before I could find the night shift worker. Then he denied that he was supposed to be at the front desk, and the argument only made things worse. There are other inexpensive places in the area with staff who actually care about their jobs. This was the worst place I've had the displeasure of staying.

The only good thing I can say is that the room was clean. The pool had no water, which was the whole reason we picked a hotel for spring break. There were no blankets on the beds, and the desk wouldn't give us extra sheets. Everything around the property seemed out of order. Breakfast was just a waffle, with nothing else, not even juice.

Sam at the front desk was great, so helpful and patient, with a great attitude. The woman there in the morning for checkout was great too. The rooms are a little older and not as fancy as newer hotels, but you can't beat the hospitality. I'll choose this place every time.

There was no hot water, we thought, but I was wrong. I just had to wait 30 minutes for it to warm up. We overslept until checkout, my fault, but one of the staff stopped by four or five times in the 15 minutes we overstayed to tell us to leave, like they were running late cleaning it for the next sucker. The rooms weren't very clean, lamps were missing bulbs, and there was just one towel and three small pillows on the bed.
