Plaza Motel Clyde

The owner was helpful and nice, and I had no trouble parking my motorcycle right outside my room. It was room number 1, next to the highway, but traffic eased off after 8 pm and I slept okay. The town is nice, and the room was comfortable and clean, with a microwave and fridge. The bathroom was clean but had no tub. The bed seemed about full size; I slept fine, though I would have liked it bigger. The window AC ran constantly and got really annoying when the compressor kicked in. It felt a little overpriced for what I got, and there was no coffee in the room.

The room was okay, but I won’t stay again. We paid $170 for what felt like a $70 room, and the owner told us there were no outdoor outlets when we needed to charge our boat batteries. There was an outdoor pop machine around the corner, and when we left the next morning, another boat had arrived overnight with an extension cord running to its battery charger. I then noticed two outlets about 20 feet from our boat, hidden behind a board leaning against the wall. I’d gladly have paid another $2 for the electricity. That was a cheap thing to do.

The owner/manager was very courteous, and the place was cozy and pleasant. It’s worth driving a few miles off the Ohio turn pike for an affordable stay. The rooms have what you need for a day or two: a full bath, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, wall-mounted HD TV with cable and free HBO, large beds, and privacy. I’d recommend it.

Our host really went out of the way to make the stay nice, helping unload and carry our luggage into the room and suggesting restaurants. The Plaza Motel was clean and comfortable, and we found our stay very satisfactory. Thanks so much!
