That big, fat orange cat who seemed to come with the room was the highlight of my stay. He was so friendly and loving, it made the place feel more like home than a motel. You don’t often get feline snuggles included. I’ve stayed in plenty of roadside motels, but this Motel 6 in Coalinga (East) surprised me in a good way. It’s right off the freeway, yet it was shockingly quiet, and I slept peacefully. The beds were comfortable too, which isn’t always a given at this price. It was clean, quiet, and budget-friendly, with an unexpected bit of charm. I highly recommend it.

This is a very basic Motel 6 off I-5 going north. We were heading home after Thanksgiving and just needed somewhere to sleep for the night. The room was clean and everything worked. If all you need is a place to crash, shower, and continue your trip, it does the job. Perfectly cromulent.

I arrived around 2:30 in the morning on a Thursday, and the front desk was super friendly. Some of the bad reviews didn’t match my room at all. It was clean and well kept on 9/18/2025, with smooth sheets, cold AC, and a clean shower with hot water. I was in room 250.

Don’t stay here. The towels were clean, at least, but the bed sagged like a hammock, had broken springs, and was smaller than the advertised queen. There was hot sauce and dirt all over the walls and ceiling. The shower swung from scalding hot to freezing cold.

I’m traveling all the way from Florida, and the front desk woman remembered me from last time. She makes each visit personal and checks that I’m comfortable. The women there are super friendly and helpful, and I’m very grateful for that. I’ll keep coming back. The location works well for what I need, close to food and gas stations. The rooms are clean, and I felt really safe.
