Fawlty Towers Motel

The staff were friendly, and the tropical grounds were nice. It’s close to the beach, but the room was horrible. It smelled musty, the bathroom was tiny and seemed almost useless, and the beds were dated, cheap, and very hard. Our ground-floor room had a patio door secured only by its handle lock, which didn’t feel very safe. The parking lot was very small and had no open spaces. There was no room service or complimentary breakfast. This place needs a lot of updating and wasn’t worth what I paid. At best, it felt like a $50-a-night hotel. I’m used to much nicer places and expected more for my money. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who cares about that. I would have checked in somewhere else if there had been vacancies.

The room was perfect, the pool was gorgeous, and it was peaceful. The people were great, too. I stayed a whole week last year with my dog after realizing the condo I’d rented was a no-pets place. I called at almost the last minute, and they accommodated me and took good care of me. They kept up with the linens and coffee, and their rates were great. I’d happily stay again and recommend the place to anyone, though my family is now too large for a hotel room and needs a condo.

We loved the kidney-shaped saltwater pool in the courtyard. It isn’t huge, but it was great, and the pink building with tall spires is easy to spot. The staff were nice and helped whenever we needed something. Our room had two double beds, tile floors that worked well with all the sand and water the kids tracked in, plus a small fridge and microwave. The bathroom had room for one person at a time. The beds were a bit rough, the one thing keeping this from a five for me, but I’d still stay again. It’s about a block from the beach, right beside the Ron Jon Surf Shop, and within walking distance of several good places to eat. If you’re looking for somewhere in Cocoa Beach, seriously consider the Fawlty Towers.

I had to leave a day early because of an emergency. They have a no-refund policy, but said they would refund me if someone turned up needing the room. Apparently that happened, because I saw the refund posted. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the pool was nice. Rates were reasonable, and it’s a great little hotel close to the beach and one of the best sports grills I’ve seen. I’ll stay here again. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
