Ramada by Wyndham Coeur d'Alene

The shower still wouldn't drain after we reported it to the front desk, and there were two large bugs by the window that we had to remove when we got to the room. We also got stuck in the old elevator for at least three minutes while it creaked and moved slightly up and down. We had to book twice because bad weather made us arrive late, and although a male representative assured us we'd get a partial refund, it never came. The whole stay was poor service at double the price because of the missing refund. We gave them some leeway, but I wouldn't book here.

We paid for four nights but left after just one, and now we're fighting to get the $468 refund. The shower filled up instead of draining, the room phone didn't work, the carpet was filthy and stained all over, and plugs kept falling out of the receptacles. We also got trapped in the elevator between the second and third floors. After ten minutes it went back to the first floor, and we used the stairs for the rest of the night. There's no inspection tag in the elevator car, and other reviews suggest this has been happening for a while. We ended up at the Comfort Inn, which was great and a little cheaper. Even a Motel 6 is better quality than the Ramda. They're charging premium rates for a place worth $40 a night at best. Don't stay at this dump.

Country Inn's GM went out of her way for us and processed a refund, so I'll give them five stars. At the time, though, we were staying at the Ramada during its remodel, and the accommodations were what you'd expect while changes were underway. The breakfast wasn't worth it. We had to leave early and told the front desk, but the woman took my email and nothing happened until the GM at Country Inn stepped in.

The room was roomy and clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was great. We arrived around 9:30-10pm, when the woman at check-in was busy taking selfies and chatting on her phone. The two women at checkout were very professional. Even so, the hotel was good overall.
