Budget Inn and Suites Colby

The place is badly run down, and the rooms are in disrepair with a strong cigarette smell. I couldn’t stay there. The front desk woman told me Priceline would refund me, but when Priceline called to ask for one, the motel refused and claimed they had offered me another room. The Motel 6 down the road feels like the Ritz-Carlton next to this place.

The staff were very friendly and courteous, and the rooms were clean. It’s an older hotel, and the mattress was below average, though I could tolerate it. This was the cheapest place I found in Colby, about 2.5 miles from I-70.

Being in town made it easy to pick up food, get gas, and take care of errands while I was visiting Colby. Budget Inn & Suites isn’t right by the interstate like some chain hotels, but that location worked well for me. My room was quiet, clean, and simple, with a comfortable bed and working Wi-Fi. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly. For the price, it’s hard to beat.

The family running the place were amazingly kind and hospitable. We got talking about India, their home country, and they insisted on making me a homemade Indian lunch without accepting any payment. The food was amazing, and the whole thing was such a treat. My room was fairly clean, and the basic breakfast was decent. They also let me check in early and check out late without any hassle. It’s by far the cheapest option in town, and for a low-budget stay I found it a good deal, as long as you keep your expectations realistic. I can’t speak to the concerns in some of the other reviews.
