Quality Inn Colby

The desk clerk was helpful, and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed, but there were several problems. We found lots of black beetles, not bed bugs, in the room and hallway. TV reception was fuzzy on almost every channel and the picture ratio was wrong. The Choice Hotel's app showed rooms with interior and exterior doors; we were traveling with pets and requested an exterior door, but the property didn't have that option, so the pictures were incorrect. I couldn't connect to the internet and needed to call the office, but our room phone didn't work. Also, even though the hotel allows pets, there were no outside trash bins for their waste.

The rooms had beautiful finishes after the remodel, and I was delighted to find hardwood floors instead of carpet as someone with allergies. Everything was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the AC worked great. I'd recommend this as a reasonable alternative to the pricier hotels two blocks away by the interstate.

July 9, 2021 The staff were wonderful and helpful, but the rooms need updating. They looked nice, though the mattress was very uncomfortable. The exterior doors wouldn't lock, and the showerhead dripped down the back wall. When we tried to adjust it, the shower face came completely off.

We chose not to stay after finding black mold on the bathroom ceiling. The attendant checked the neighboring room and found mold there too. He offered a room on the third floor, but there was no elevator, so we declined. I should have read the reviews before booking, and I agree with the others: NO, NO, A THOUSAND TIMES NO....DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The attendant said I needed to contact the online booking company to cancel, and whether he'd accept it was up to his manager. An AAA.com representative canceled the reservation and said she would follow up with the manager. We found a nice, clean room across the street for the same price.
