The only thing I’d change is how long we stayed. Next time, we’re definitely coming back for longer. Bear Rock Suites was peaceful, and Amy and Charlie have made it feel like a home away from home. The views from the living area windows were amazing, and breakfast was a treat with all the coffee pods and creamers to pick from. I’m picky about bedding, so I was surprised by how luxurious and comfortable it was. The place is beautifully decorated, too.

We spent the weekend relaxing and riding trails, and the access straight to NH Corridor 18 from the property was fantastic. Even in mid March, the snow was still deep. Bear Hollow was spotless, smelled lovely, and had two queen beds, which worked well for my 6’6” son Chase and me at 6’2”. Amy and Charlie were incredibly gracious hosts, and their Siberian huskies were so friendly. There are plenty of nearby places to eat, or you can cook in the kitchen. As a dad, I also liked knowing a hospital was less than 15 minutes away. It was our first visit, but definitely won’t be our last.

We felt right at home for the evening, and the lovely linens made it extra comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the views were great. Amy welcomed us warmly. The small apartments are decorated beautifully in a North Woods style, with snacks, tea, and water provided. You can bring your own food, and there are utensils, plates, cups, and mugs, plus a BBQ grill on the outside patio. And the dogs were the cutest, so well behaved. We can't wait to book again in winter and bring family.

We already have next year’s trip in mind. The trails are right there, and riding them was awesome. We also made time for Bear Rock falls, which were gorgeous, and visited the other falls in Colebrook, well worth the time. Amy, Charlie, and Charlene were great hosts during our two-day stay. The suite was very clean, comfortable, and homey, and the grounds around their home were beautiful. We loved it.

Colebrook is a quiet mountain town in New Hampshire’s northern tip, and Bear Rock Suites is a great place to stay if you like that kind of setting. The lodge has a country-chic look, with mountains all around, and there’s a small park a short drive away with a waterfall that looks like it belongs in a vacation video. Canada is about a half hour away for a day trip, so bring your passport. The long cold season may be a drawback for some, with snow still possible in April and May, but it’s a plus if you ride snowmobiles, ATVs, or dirt bikes. The main highway through town gets a lot of 18-wheelers hauling goods, which is probably the least picturesque part. Stephen King's sister lives, or lived, here, and I think this may be the road featured in pet Sematary. If you’re after mountain quiet, Colebrook could be your kind of town.
