Sleep Inn & Suites Winchester near University

Beck at the front desk was attentive and pleasant, even walking up to bring ice when the only working machine was on the third floor and the elevator was broken. The room needs refreshing: the comforter was stained, paint had come off the bathroom door, and the beds were soft. There was no soap at first, and I was told they had none, but after I asked how I was meant to wash, a few bars appeared. Breakfast wasn’t ready when we left. It was a decent stopover, and we stayed in room 104.

The indoor pool was a real highlight for me. It’s newly renovated, heated, and was a relaxing place to spend time after exploring Winchester. The room felt cozy, with soft bedding and a spotless bathroom, and everything seemed fresh and clean. Staff were welcoming from the moment I arrived, friendly as well as professional, and made sure I had what I needed. I had a great stay and would happily come back.

We had to switch rooms because the bathtub in the first one was broken, but the woman at the front desk handled it promptly and without any fuss. The rooms are a little dated, though they’re spacious and very clean, with none of that stale smell some older hotels have. Check-in was easy, and the front desk staff member was friendly and professional. Breakfast had lots of choices and looked good, and drinks like water and soda were available too. A pleasant stay, and I’d book again if I needed to.

I used my points to book the romance room for my wife's birthday, and I’d made the reservation a week and a half ahead. The first room smelled strongly of cigarettes and didn’t have a two-person tub. After I told the front desk, they moved us to a room without the smoke, but it still wasn’t the type of room I had booked. I’m pretty unhappy with how this went and probably won’t stay here again.
