Tryp By Wyndham College Station

We chose this place for the location and because it accepts pets, but the stay was disappointing enough that we left early and won't return. The room, bathroom, and shower all felt cramped. Parking was inconvenient, and so was the dog run. We paid for breakfast and regretted it. There wasn't coffee in the room either, just an espresso maker.

The restaurant turned out to be a real surprise, the food was incredible. I travel to College Station for work pretty often, so this is going to be my new go to. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Staff were very friendly, and they recognized my IHG rewards membership. I had some doubts from reading reviews beforehand, but ended up loving this property.

Even my very picky kids liked their dinner at the restaurant, which says a lot. The renovation has made the hotel feel fresh, clean, and modern. We really enjoyed our stay, and appreciate the lovely visit.

We've stayed at this hotel every Thanksgiving for four years, but our visit on November 26 and 27, 2025 was terrible. Our daughter and her family had a separate room, where the shower drain backed up and they couldn't shower for their whole stay. Their room also smelled musty and moldy, and she's been sick since then. In our room, the toilet clogged on the first night. The front desk clerk tried to help and deserves no blame, but the hotel had sent all maintenance staff home for the holidays, and nobody had the code to the maintenance closet. That meant no plunger. My husband and I drove around College Station looking for an open shop, but everything was closed for Thanksgiving. We were offered another room, but with our dog and all our belongings, and family gatherings to attend, we didn't have time to pack and move. A hotel needs a backup plan for maintenance problems, and the clerk should at least have had the closet code. I don't understand how the entire housekeeping and maintenance crews could be off during one of the busiest holiday periods. Previous stays were much better, and I hope the hotel makes major improvements.
