We went to another place nearby and were satisfied. It had a clean room, welcoming lobby, well lit parking, a friendly enough check-in, and seemed dog friendly too. At this hotel, the check-in had a bad vibe. The front desk was arguing with a guest who wanted a refund and refusing, saying, "you've been there for several hours already." I’m not sure why the guest wanted a refund, but the service seemed sub-par and the lobby oddly inhospitable. There was a Hampton one parking lot away, so we went there instead.
This place is a dump, filthy, dingy, and outdated. If you want to rent by the hour, you’d feel right at home. I’ve never had a room this bad. Don’t believe me? Book it and see, though you won’t want to stay. Trying to get a refund from Expedia is hopeless. They must pay Expedia big money to advertise them. The Hampton Inn is right next door.
Jessica at check-in was wonderful, friendly, and helpful when we stayed one night during the third week of October 2025. We were on the first floor of this older hotel, and the sheets and comforter looked washed but were stained. The sink was cracked and poorly repaired, the tub faucet needed work, water pressure was poor, and water got all over the bathroom floor. We heard trains all night and hadn’t realized the track was right across the street. It would have been nice to know. When we went for breakfast at 8:25 a.m., there was no food left. I pointed to the sign above the desk clerk saying breakfast went until 9 a.m.; he seemed not to understand English at first and said there were only 10 minutes left. I checked the time, and it was 8:30. He got angry, came around the desk, and slammed into the room by breakfast to make more scrambled eggs. He was clearly unhappy about it. The coffee wasn’t good, and the waffle batter barely made one waffle, but we weren’t going to ask for more. Later, when I went back for my receipt, the gentleman there was pleasant. I saw the first guy ride away on a bicycle. It wasn’t easy to get to the hotel, with lots of turns and terrible roads, but it was okay for the night. The stained linens were definitely a turn-off.
The room was gross, like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks or even months, and the hotel rooms are quite dated. The stair landing we used to get to the room seemed unstable, and behind the building there was a huge pile of disgusting mattresses. They need to make some real improvements. I’d avoid the place unless you’re absolutely desperate.
They wouldn’t let me stay even one night with my cat. Dogs are allowed, but that’s it, and I can see why they’re rated 2 stars online. It’s disgusting that the only places “welcoming” to me and my cat are Trap-house Inns/Motels. Heaven forbid a business show some leniency to someone just looking for a night’s rest. Instead, selfish places like this make me keep putting our safety at-risk. Thanks for nothing.
