The Rose Hotel

I've stayed twice because my son lives nearby. It's a lovely hotel with large rooms, a little bar in the lobby, and restaurants close enough to walk to. The reception woman we got was crabby and dismissive, and wouldn't help with ideas for places to eat, so that knocked it down to four stars. You can't check in until 3, either. If you've been kicked out of another hotel at 11, that's four hours to kill. Be prepared.

The staff were amazing, and the rooms were spacious with all the amenities I wanted. The interior design is beautiful, and breakfast offered a wide range of foods made with great ingredients. I had an amazing stay at The Rose Hotel and would absolutely recommend it. I'd come back!

I loved how easy it was to come and go, with covered parking on the first floor right beside the back entrance. The location puts you in the middle of walkable downtown Pleasanton. I did hear a nearby railroad sound its horn in the middle of the night, though I doubt it would have woken me if I hadn't already been awake. Housekeeping was fantastic and offered turn-down service. The hotel is small, so it doesn't have the constant bustle of a big chain. The rooms and furnishings throughout are beautiful, and the breakfast buffet, while not huge, has a solid selection and top-notch food. I've stayed at plenty of luxury hotels, and The Rose Hotel is near the top of my list. I couldn't recommend it more.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with thoughtful details and flourishes in all the right spots. We loved the whole stay from beginning to end. It's one of the best places we've stayed, and we'd absolutely recommend it.
