Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Colonie Center Mall

We were exhausted after driving from Texas to New York, so it was a big help that the front desk guy let us into our room before check-in time. He was pleasant, and the room was comfortable and very clean.

We were out of the hotel within an hour after finding a bedbug on the pillow. I have video showing the bug and the room number, 214, but Google Reviews wouldn’t let me upload it. They’re refusing to refund us, so we now have to dispute the charge through the bank. The place was disgusting, and the customer service was just as bad. The staff were rude and acted like they didn’t care about the bedbugs. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Avoid it and stay somewhere else in Albany.

I booked this for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend because the listing advertised a jacuzzi tub, but our room didn’t have one. It smelled strongly of cigarettes, the beds were awful, and the room seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned properly. I wanted to leave and get a refund, but the person at the front desk wasn’t helpful and said nothing could be done. It was freezing too. I was under the blankets wearing my winter coat and still couldn’t get warm. I’m extremely upset and wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone.

The lobby fireplace was nice, and the reception staff were kind. As for the rooms, the first non-smoking one smelled of smoke; the second had a sweaty smell that mostly faded by morning. Getting from the car to the room was difficult because of the icy barrier. It’s a basic motel.
