Days Inn By Wyndham Colorado City

The location worked perfectly for us, the staff were polite, and the place was pet friendly. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but the walls are thin. The people next door were very noisy two nights in a row, and the hallway smelled horrible. Breakfast was just a NutriGrain bar, a little fruit, and coffee.

There was plenty of parking, but we were told the room we’d picked through the company’s own system wasn’t available. At the time I wrote this, that room was still listed as available. It could lead someone to wonder if the business practice is questionable. We walked up to the second floor, since there’s no elevator, and the room left a lot to be desired. The curtains were damaged, the chairs and towels were stained, and there was trash behind the central nightstand. Would NOT recommend.

The front desk staff were great, and the manager’s daughter even brought me clean sheets. Still, the room needs a proper cleaning. I found dusty pistachio shells behind the nightstand while looking for an outlet, and there was a hole in my sheet that housekeeping should have noticed when changing it, if they changed it at all. The bathroom was clean, though the tub tiles were missing grout. The website says breakfast is included, but all they had was a fruit granola bar, coffee, and water. Service was great again.

Everyone was very nice and professional, and they went above and beyond to make things right. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the A/C ran full blast and still didn’t cool the room much. There was no A/C anywhere else in the hotel, including the lobby and breakfast dining room. Outside, it was mostly weeds and grasshoppers. My dog struggled to walk through them to go to the bathroom. The rooms could use a little more attention to detail.
