Mel-haven Lodge

The front desk service was excellent. A quick ring of the bell brought someone over to help, and we felt safe throughout our stay. Our two queen beds were comfortable after days out, and the Wi-Fi was strong enough to plan the next day or scroll through photos. The lodge is conveniently placed in Colorado Springs, especially for visiting Garden of the Gods, which is close enough for easy morning walks among the red rocks. Royal Gorge Bridge is about a scenic 1.5-hour drive away. The room had a fresh, clean smell as soon as we walked in, the sort of cleanliness you can smell as well as see. Mel-Haven Lodge gave us comfort and convenience, 5/5, highly recommended.

I’d never been a motel person, but after black mold showed up at my place 😭, I tried this one since it’s nearby. Turns out it’s a great place to stay. The lovely owners showed me the room, which was VERY clean and stocked with what you need to cook and clean. There’s no pool or breakfast, just coffee, but I don’t use public pools anyway and prefer to make my own food. Poppy, my service animal, and I enjoyed our stay. We often take the good, healthy walk to downtown Manitou. Thank you.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the price is right. The furnishings feel dated, though, and the outside and parking lot need some work.

My time at the lodge was quiet and peaceful, and the room was cozy, comfortable, tidy, and clean. The owner is a caring, kind, professional man who made me feel welcome. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
