Quality Suites Downtown

From the outside I wasn’t sure about the place, and at first I was disappointed that it was such an old hotel. We usually choose Comfort Inn, but decided to spend more on a higher-end stay. Inside, it was clean and nicely decorated, and the breakfast was great, with lots of hot, fresh food. I was also glad to find the pool was handicap accessible, along with the hot tub. You really can’t judge it by the outside. We did have noise late at night, with a workman drilling after 10 and people stomping around above us. My husband asked the worker to stop and he did, and the front desk dealt with the other noise. It was quiet after midnight. I was happy to find a clean coffee pot in the morning, since the last two places we stayed were very dirty.

We had a quiet, clean, comfortable room, though it was an older one. Renovations were going on over Memorial Day Weekend 2017, but the area was screened off with plastic and we didn’t hear any noise. Breakfast was standard with some hot choices, and the late checkout made leaving feel relaxed. Decent hotel for the price.

We only stayed one night. The bed was comfortable, and the room had good air conditioning. The shower was fine with warm running water, and the bathroom had plenty of towels and everything needed, though it was only partly remodeled. There wasn’t a bathroom fan, which I didn’t like. Breakfast was a nice buffet with lots of choices.

The hallways, room, and pool all felt pretty worn out. The shower curtain rod wasn’t secure, the carpet felt dingy underfoot, and many ceiling tiles in the pool area were broken or torn. On the plus side, the hot breakfast was quite good and seemed popular with the other guests. Staff were friendly, professional, and helpful, and the cancellation policy is great: cancel by 4 pm on check-in day without a fee.
