Breakfast had the basics covered, from eggs and fruit to cereal, pastries, and lots of drinks. I also liked the fun room keys and the hotel's eco-friendly feel. The staff were really friendly, and the lobby and interior are spacious, stylish, and thoughtfully put together, even though the outside looks like a typical motel. We started out in a King room, which was nice but short on places to sit. The team switched us to a double room when we asked, no hassle.

The lobby feels welcoming after its upgrade, and the staff were helpful and seemed to care. The hotel is in a handy spot near downtown and easy to reach from the south on I-25, though from the road it looks pretty unassuming. There are two different feels to the property. The north side has hallway-facing doors and looks a bit more updated. We were initially given a room there, but the elevator wasn't working and we weren't on the ground floor, which would've been tough with our dog. The desk staff kindly moved us to a ground-level room with an outside-facing door on the south side, which looks more like an old-school roadside motel. Our room was spacious and clean, but it was clearly in an older building with little soundproofing. We were right beside the stairwell and heard constant noise. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and the stairwell sounds made sleeping difficult. The bathroom's barn door wasn't ideal for a couple sharing the room, and the water pressure was poor. There's a small patch of turf for pets, which was convenient, but no real grass anywhere on the property. Our dog wasn't pleased, though that's our issue, not the hotel's. For what we paid, we were satisfied. It's an affordable, pet-friendly option in a good area.

We stayed here years ago and remember it as clean, nice, minimalist, and hip, with no problems. This time, the place felt run down, and the price was for a nice stay while what we got was terrible. It was so bad we nearly went somewhere else for the night. I won't stay again. Our room was 66 degrees when we arrived at 4 p.m. in spring, when Colorado can be 80 during the day and 40 at night. The heat wouldn't work until maintenance came and turned it on from the bathroom ceiling. After that, we were told it could provide either air conditioning or heat, but not both. Having a room that cold on arrival and being limited that way was unacceptable. I had requested two extra pillows and an extra blanket in the reservation, but they weren't there. I also paid for early check-in, which we ended up not using because we were running late, and for late checkout listed as 2 p.m. Before 1 p.m., the front desk knocked and asked us to leave, then argued they couldn't see the late checkout on their end. I went down after getting dressed to confirm it, but housekeeping knocked again at 1:20, despite the do not disturb sign. The receipt clearly showed the late checkout charge, room cost, and early check-in, so they could see it. There were weeds growing on the roof outside our window, fallen branches in the parking area, and large metal beams outside. They looked like they'd been there for years. In the room, a fixture had no cover and holes around it; an old hole by the door handle was badly patched and unpainted. Old, unused zip ties remained in the walls where fixture wiring had been changed. There was no spare toilet paper, and we ran out. The shower grout had mold, the bare box springs were worn, there were no cups or other amenities, and no microwave or coffee maker. The fridge was unplugged, with its cord on top, so I had to plug it in for our drinks. The floor was dirty. I sent this account in the survey they sent me, and I'm putting it on Google as written. This is what happened to me, and people should know.

The rooms were clean, and the beds and bathrooms were mostly fine, but this wouldn't be my first choice. Light comes through the gaps around the outside doors, and bugs can get in, so those doors need new seals. There are also connecting doors between rooms. You can actually see into the next room through the clearance underneath one of them, as one of my photos shows. Those doors should be sealed, locked from both sides, and fully caulked, with the handles removed. The property manager needs to fix this soon.

The woman who checked us in was kind and helpful. The room looked cute at first, but once we settled in, I was disappointed. For the price of four nights, the problems were outrageous. The door had no seal around any of its edges, as the photos show. The mirror in room 416 was broken and dirty, the AC was poor and the room was 92 degrees in June, and the bathroom had no ventilation fan and cracked ceiling tiles. There were no bags in the trash cans, and the whole room had just two small lights. The bathroom barn door had obvious gaps when closed. In person, the decor also didn't live up to the advertising. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Maybe I made a terrible choice, since it's only rated around 3.7. I hope other people have a better stay, but we didn't.
