Days Inn Columbia

I've stayed here several times. The rooms have mostly been updated, and I like the LED lights, big flat screen TVs, and lack of carpet. But the bedspread hasn't always looked clean, and I've found hairs and stains on it. In my opinion the sheets, blankets, and pillowcases aren't being washed daily. No bugs, at least. The outside is messy and needs a lot more upkeep. If the bedspread had been clean, I wouldn't have had much else to complain about.

I was tired of driving, so I stayed because the sheets were clean. The shower looked like someone had wiped it down, but there were dirty water streaks and hairs left behind. The room was poorly maintained and generally unclean. Orange was the main color, and the paint and trim looked like an opossum had done the work blind. Repairs looked careless too, with white caulk standing out against already dingy areas. I went to breakfast, then ended up at the McDonald's down the road.

There were holes in the walls and both dead and live bugs, including roaches and bed bugs. Priceline contacted the property to try to get me a refund, but they refused. I slept in my van because I wasn't bringing Tennessee bed bugs back to Michigan. I wouldn't recommend this room to my worst enemy.

Check-in and checkout were simple, it was easy to spot from the road, and our ground-floor room had a very big TV. You can usually park right in front of those rooms, though someone else might have the spot. The area felt a little shady, and some guests were loud at times, though that's not the motel's fault. The room looked tidy at first, but there were cigarette burns on the sheets and other fabrics, hairs on the toilet seat and shower wall, a door that didn't seem to close properly, and curtains that almost but didn't quite shut. I barely looked at the mini fridge. It wasn't awful, but the price felt high for what we got. I'm used to hotels and don't see myself staying at one of these again.
