Rodeway Inn & Suites

The room looked nothing like the website photos, and I felt unsafe as soon as I went in. We'd already seen what looked like a sex worker and a couple of apparently homeless men wandering around the sketchy lot. There was yelling and banging upstairs, and through a window I saw two grown men fighting. We decided to leave and find somewhere else, but the front desk clerk, who seemed to hate his job, said he couldn't refund our $60. We took the loss and left. If I could give zero stars, I would. If you value your life, don't stay here. If you want hard drugs, a dirty sex worker, and the chance of getting mugged, this is the place. The website pictures are very misleading.

For a very cheap room, this was comfortable and relatively clean. It did what I needed while I was driving across the country, and I'd give the value five stars. It's a modest budget hotel, and I had no major problems except the shower. The water pressure was very weak, and I couldn't get a decent temperature to bathe.

The room was dirty, and the photos online were misleading. They must be from when the hotel was new: the real lobby had makeshift paper signs, broken furniture, and drywall on the floor. My room had stains on the walls and curtains, and hairs from several previous guests were all over the comforter, sheets, and pillows. The TV was stuck on one channel and there was no remote. The advertised free breakfast wasn't available, and there wasn't even a paid option. When I asked, the desk clerk said he couldn't control what the listings said and acted like it wasn't his problem. He was also unprofessional during check-in, taking a call from another unhappy customer while handling my booking. Their call turned into an uncomfortable argument, and afterward he complained to me about it and made racist remarks about previous guests. That's unacceptable behavior from a hotel manager, and frankly disgusting as a person too.

The room was disgusting. There looked to be feces on a sheet and lampshade, moldy coffee in the microwave, and a rag from a sex toy left by the previous occupant. The toilet wouldn't flush and half the lights didn't work. When I went to check out and complain, the manager/owner was on his cell phone and too busy to talk. I called later, and he said I should've told him sooner and he wasn't doing anything for me. We were in town for a family member's very serious surgery at Ellis Fishel hospital. Our original reservation had been lost, so this was a last-minute place to stay. We were exhausted, checked in at 11:30 PM, and had to leave by 6:30 AM.
