There’s plenty of parking for larger vehicles, and we weren’t treated in a racist way. Those were about the only positives. I usually avoid posting negative reviews, but people should know what to expect. I’ve already found a much better place down the road for the same rates. What a shame. I like Super 8 Hotels, but Wyndham and Super 8 corporate should look into this location. The room had no blankets under the old, thin bed cover, and the breakfast was basically rationed cereal, if that was available. The desk woman was rude and rolled her eyes when I asked about amenities listed for this hotel. Check-in only covered one night at a time, so we had to ask for key cards to be updated, after long waits for staff to appear. They say they’re pet friendly, but they seemed not to like pets. The pet fees were out of line: I paid $100 for my 9-pound, 11-year-old dog, who sleeps most of the time, more than the room itself cost. The carpet also needs to go. It looked decades old and was stained. The refrigerator freezer froze over because it had no dial or other way to adjust it, ruining $50 worth of our food. They were supposed to credit us for that, but I still haven’t received the reimbursement.

I wouldn’t recommend Super 8 Motel Clark lane Columbia, Mo. My daughter and son were bitten by bed bugs while we were there, and I’ll be contacting the health department as soon as possible. The staff member on the morning shift, a tall Indian man with glasses, was especially rude and disrespectful. He wouldn’t give me his name, so I’ll be calling corporate about him too.

The location is great, just seconds from I 70, though our rate was higher than usual because a state high school wrestling tournament was in town. The rooms are small but clean. When we had an issue with the bathroom light switch, the desk person came right to our room to help.

The room itself had a good queen bed and a clean bathroom, but the carpet felt sticky and could use a cleaning. The place was hard to find, especially with the big billboard lying on the ground behind the hotel. Check-in was fine, though the clerk misunderstood when I explained that my travel companion would need a key to get in during the night. He thought I was asking to let a homeless person inside. Breakfast was a letdown. There was cold cereal, but no coffee ready. I waited nearly ten minutes, and the clerk had left a sign saying they’d be back in ten minutes. I called out, and someone came down from upstairs. At 8 a.m. I asked whether breakfast was over, and was told it ran until 9. I’d skip this location. I’d expect other Super 8s to be better.

The bathroom fan didn’t work, the tub held standing water because the drain plug stayed closed, and the shower was so weak I had trouble rinsing my hair. We also had no outlets on one side of the bed, so bring an extension cord, and there’s no elevator to the second floor. Getting luggage inside was a hassle since the automatic door opener didn’t work, so I had to manage the cart and hold the doors. Outside, trucks kept “brake checking” all night. Ask for a room away from the highway. Each problem might’ve been tolerable alone, but together they made for an inconvenient stay. Putting the Wyngate name on it doesn’t change what it is.
