Best Western Plus Dutch Haus Inn and Suites

The bathroom floor was so slippery that I nearly fell, with or without socks, and there wasn't any hand soap. Still, this was the best hotel stay I've had with my boyfriend. The room was huge, with two TVs, a couch, and what seemed like three sinks. We loved the in-room Jacuzzi. The shower was a little small, but otherwise nice. The bed was very soft and had plenty of pillows. It felt worth the price for a holiday stay.

The fireplace gives off real heat, the beds are comfortable enough, and the cook staff was amazing. Breakfast was better than average, especially the ham. The pool is ice cold, which one of my kids liked, and the two staff members we met were helpful and cordial. Those positives didn't make up for how dirty and disappointing the place felt. We reserved one room and got another, and the room photos online didn't match what we paid for. The carpet was clean, but the walls were thick with dust, and the kitchenette cabinets were disgusting. There was a handprint in the dust, and wiping it raised a cloud. The flooring in the kitchen and bathroom didn't feel safe to walk on barefoot, and debris was built up in the corners. The fitted sheet kept slipping off because it didn't fit the thick mattress. The pullout couch bedding felt like a wool emergency blanket from a car trunk. The hot tub was hot, but the bubbles haven't worked since at least my visit two years ago, so it was just still water. The pool area also seemed badly neglected. Every chair arm and table we planned to use was sticky, and my group and I had to scrub them down with two pool towels. It didn't seem like a recent spill. For $250, I expected at least the appearance of a clean room. It felt like only the bare minimum had been done. I've stayed here with my kids six or seven times in the past five years, since it's close to home and has a pool. They used to ask to come for special occasions, but now even they say it's not worth the cost, and they don't have jobs yet. I usually write positive reviews and understand that life gets messy, but paying a premium for a room that felt like a dirty bait and switch left me uncomfortable sleeping there and really irritated. I had average hopes for this Best Western, and feel let down. The nice parts don't outweigh the problems, and I'm not coming back.

The dinner theater was entertaining, even if the play was a bit cheesy, and the food was very good. Serving the soup, salad, and rolls with butter at the tables would have worked better than having people weave through lines, and it would've helped to seat everyone before dinner started. The hotel itself was spotless, from the entrance and lobby to the banquet room and my room. The staff were attentive and helpful. I came with a group for a fun weekend, and many of them were there with me. I'll return and would recommend the place to friends. Thanks to all the staff.

I was back in my hometown for a week and needed a place for one night before my Airbnb was ready. Check-in and checkout were smooth and easy, and the buffet breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel. I'd definitely recommend it if you need somewhere in the area.
