As a travel nurse working 12-hour night shifts, it’s hard to find a hotel that lets me check in after work at 7 a.m. Most places charge for two nights, which feels unfair. Mrs. Kitty worked with me so I could come in at 7 a.m., sleep until 6 p.m., and check out, all for one day’s charge. That’s how it should be, but other hotels weren’t willing to do it. Thank you so much, I’ll be back!

I’ve stayed here several times before, but I won’t return. On our way to Florida for our yearly trip, we stopped for a room and the clerk rudely said she couldn’t help while the nightly audit was being done. She didn’t know whether there were rooms and said it would take at least an hour to find out. She seemed like she just wanted us gone so she could sit back in her little room. We drove to the Comfort Inn in Eufala instead, where the front desk clerk was friendly and happy to help. She told me hotel audits take at most 10 minutes, which made it seem like the Country Inn clerk simply didn’t want to do her job. That’s unacceptable customer service.

The moldy, damp smell was everywhere and never left the room. The sheets felt wet and smelled terrible, and the towels smelled strongly of mildew and had stains. The bathroom was rusty. There didn’t seem to be central AC, and the window units couldn’t keep up with the humidity. After breathing in mold during two nights there, I had a runny nose and stomach pain for two weeks. If you care about your health, stay somewhere else.

The room was comfortable and nice, and the hotel was clean, with freshly deep-cleaned floors. The breakfast bar was very good that morning. The front desk clerk was attentive and kind, too. A great stay all around.
