Days Inn Lamar

We were allowed to check in really early since our semi was in the shop, so thank you for that! The heat worked well, the beds seemed comfortable, and it was quiet. It's right in town near food, and there are an indoor pool, hot tub, and gym. The rooms are along a hallway. Showers are stand-up only, though one suite has a jacuzzi tub. There's no elevator, and the internet is really, really bad.

The rooms were clean, and the weather was lovely, but we had to move three times because the TV wouldn't work. There's no breakfast, and housekeeping tried to come into our room at 8:30 even though checkout was at 11.

The breakfast they advertised was weak coffee and a small granola bar. The dining room floor had sticky footprints, and it looked like they'd been there a while since nobody else was around. My room had sticky floors and flies, and the toilet's flushing mechanism was broken, so I had to fix it a few times. The bathroom fan was really noisy, and there was no coffee in the room. I got the stinkeye from the desk guy, maybe because I filled my mug instead of using their little paper cups, or maybe because I took two granola bars while my wife wasn't there. Way overpriced. Next time I'll sleep in my car.

We were very disappointed. The bed and shower were fine, but if you're bringing a dog, there's really nowhere to walk them. One spot is an abandoned lot full of weeds, and the gravel area is covered in weeds and painful, pointy burs. The back entrance was just a couple doors from our room, but it wasn't secured overnight and stood open all night, so anyone could come in. The website said breakfast was included, but all they had were coffee and kids' granola bars.
