Embassy Suites by Hilton Columbus

Check-in was easy and the staff were very friendly. But I left something in the room, and after I was already a good distance away, I realized exactly where it was. I called housekeeping about it and never got a call back. The front desk couldn't help and kept transferring me to housekeeping. I even left a tip. It's sad to think housekeeping might steal something a guest accidentally leaves behind. I won't return to this location.

The rooms have a lovely layout, and the suites include an office area for work. The double beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and I didn't see any bugs. The indoor pool is beautiful, with a waterfall, and there's an attached heated outdoor pool you can swim to. Pool hours are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and noon to 9 p.m.; the workout room is open around the clock. Breakfast runs from 7 to 10 and is free, with made-to-order hot omelets plus fruit, pancakes, a waffle maker, yogurt, pastries, and plenty of other choices. Highly recommend.

The hotel and rooms are beautiful, and I love the bar and dining area. The rooms feel like little apartments. But there are no trash bags in the room bins, so cleaners have to get the trash out by hand, which seems gross and poorly thought out. I also paid nearly $6 for parking, and only now is Embassy Suites installing cameras in the lot. Cars full of hooligans have been coming in and breaking into cars; my friend's car was hit last night along with a few others. Apparently the police have had a task force trying to catch these kids for a while. They should have installed cameras much sooner. The place is lovely, but I'd avoid it until the cameras are up or the police have caught them.

The room was spacious and nice, breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly. But there's a serious car break-in problem that, in my opinion, isn't being handled well. It sounds like there were seven break-ins last night and allegedly 13 on Tuesday. The on-site “security” didn't secure anything. Next time I travel, I'll pack window plastic and tape. Good luck! They didn't charge for parking, lol.
