Golden Sands 1614 Studio

We stayed in #1907 and loved it. From one room you can see the bay, and the master bedroom looks out at the ocean. The unit has a washer and dryer, a full kitchen, and plenty of seating. It was clean and only a few steps from the beach. Check-in was easy, and the front desk staff helped with our questions. We’ll stay here again.

My husband and I rented a condo at the Golden Sands through Vacasa in September 2022, and I started bawling as soon as we walked in. It was absolutely filthy, far beyond a few crumbs or dust. I contacted Vacasa, but all they offered was $100 back for the cleaning fee. They told me everything I complained about was cosmetic. I’ve attached pictures so you can decide whether this is a company you’d want to rent from for your vacation.

Unit #809 is dated and worn out. If you’re not fussy and only need somewhere to crash at night, maybe it’ll do. The view can’t be beat and the amenities are decent, but it rained the whole time we were there. The pool bar and that area shut during the rain and never reopened. The shower is falling apart, its hot water handle barely hanging on, and if you’re average height you have to bend to rinse your hair. I’m 5’6”. You’ll get at most five minutes before the water turns ice cold. The bed is horrible, so bring your own pillows and blankets. The curtains are coming off and won’t close on the left or in the middle. Aside from the bathroom outlet, none of the outlets hold a plug, so don’t count on charging anything or keeping lights on. The cleaning service missed dust bunnies and hair in the corners and behind the side tables, and there was sand all over the condo. The oven is rusted. The washer and dryer are okay.

For over 20 years, the Coldwell Banker staff at the Golden Sands have rented out my condo and done an excellent job. They’re cheerful and helpful, which has made being a landlord fun and effortless. Cathy and Susi in the Golden Sands office are both models of courtesy and efficiency. I hope they never retire.
