Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus/OSU, OH

I was here on a recent business trip, and the hotel is conveniently close to OSU. What concerned me was the gas smell in the elevator and first-floor hallway. I told the front desk, and the woman there said she noticed it too but management didn’t want to deal with it. I find that really concerning. There should be no gas smell in a hotel, and it needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

I stayed seven nights in an accessible suite. The breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and had a good variety, among the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Breakfast staff were delightful, and I enjoyed the Wednesday social too. There are plenty of nice amenities, and I’d book again. Cyre and Aneek at reception were 10/10 and went above and beyond to help me. Housekeeping brought the rating down. On the first service day they changed three towels and emptied the trash but didn’t make the bed. On another day they left cabinet doors open. They also don’t seem to sweep or mop, since lemon juice drops were still on the floor. If I could bend, I’d have wiped it myself. Housekeeping needs attention.

The location is a little odd and can be hard to spot if you don’t already know the hotel is there. Nearby dining choices are limited, and there isn’t much close parking. The detached garage is a bit of a walk away. Some small things in the room weren’t working, which was annoying but not crucial. The staff and service were terrific.

We stayed with family on the way to vacation. The rooms were huge and clean, and the gym and pool area were nice and tidy. The location was great, with restaurants, ice cream, shops, and stores all on the same block, within walking distance. Staff were friendly and helped with everything I needed. If we’re in the area again, this will definitely be our stop.
