MainStay Suites Columbus Worthington

We needed a kitchen where we could cook during the week since we're truck drivers, and it was a real highlight. The room was neat and clean, and nothing seemed outdated. Staff were friendly and accommodating, including when we needed extra towels and bed linen for my daughter. The front desk had them brought up quickly, even though it was late. Check-in was great too. The only thing I didn't like was the maid knocking at 8:30 in the morning on checkout day. Aside from that, it was a great stay, and we'll definitely come back.

It was a quiet, comfortable stay, and nearly all the staff were friendly. The exception was the woman working Saturday around midnight. Breakfast wasn't offered. I understand some guests stay long term, but it would've been great for the rest of us, especially since the rooms were still almost $100 after the pet deposit. Most of the washers and dryers were out of order, and the kitchen had no coffee filters, dishcloths, or dish soap when we arrived.

The rooms themselves weren't bad, which makes the rest of this such a shame. The place is pet friendly, but we were on the third floor, so taking our dog out at 2 a.m. was a problem. I felt like I was high before I even reached the room from all the marijuana and cigarette smoke inside. Children were playing in the hallway and stairwell. We got our keys and went through a different door to reach the room. It had duct tape holding it open. People live there, so if you're traveling and need a night somewhere, pass on this hotel.

The free breakfast was good and included hot food, though the dining space was tiny. The pool was closed, and it's very small anyway. I might return if the price were right. We had a nice suite, but maintenance was rough. The toilet was clogged at check-in, the kitchenette light and garbage disposal didn't work, and the key cards worked about half the time. One decorative pillow was badly stained. Some kitchen items were missing too. There were four glasses but just one coffee mug.
