Towneplace Suites by Marriott Columbus

The only trouble was noisy guests on my floor. They started yelling and arguing around 10:30 or 11 at night. A staff member knocked on their door, and they were mostly quiet afterward. My room was brand new and very nice, the staff were kind and considerate, and it seemed clean to me.

The breakfast was decent, and the location is good, though there was a lot of construction out front. I wouldn’t stay here again. Worst Marriott I’ve been to, absolutely filthy. Our first room had dirty towels on the floor and several used plates and utensils in the sink, so we went to the desk and asked for a clean room. The replacement wasn’t clean either. Towels from the previous guests were still on the racks behind the bathroom door, there was hair all over the shower walls and floor, and dirty spots across both the kitchen and bathroom floors.

The front desk people were helpful, and the new hotel is clean with nice rooms. It’s also in a good spot, about a five minute drive into town. But the service beyond the desk was terrible. Room service only came once in seven nights, even after repeated requests and being told we’d be put on the list. We could see staff down the hall in the mornings, but they never did our room. One night they took the dirty towels and left us without replacements or any other service. The burners didn’t work, and nobody could be found to repair them. I tried to speak with the manager, but was told they were on paid time off for the month. Online customer service still hadn’t replied after more than a day. Just an awful customer service experience overall.

It’s a new hotel, but no housekeeping came during our seven night stay. We had to change rooms because of noise to get one that had been cleaned. There also weren’t any maintenance staff available to fix broken amenities.
