The creek, hammocks, sauna, and fire pit made it easy to switch off, and the team was great throughout. We drove in from Austin in under two hours, far enough away to unwind, with Fredericksburg and San Antonio both about a half-hour away. Check-in and checkout were simple, and housekeeping was available if requested. When we were about to head out for silverware, the property manager noticed and brought us plates and utensils himself. He was so kind, and everyone else was responsive and accommodating too. In town we tried Comfort Pizza and La Calabria, where there was live music and really good fresh pasta, and got coffee at Comfort Coffee inside a huge antique shop. There’s also a grill on site. Such a lovely weekend escape.

We rented all of Camp Comfort for our March wedding, and it felt like an adult summer camp for the weekend. Sylvia and Pete did so much to help make the day special and were incredibly accommodating. Our guests kept saying how cute and vibey the rooms were, and our beds were really comfortable. Having access to the pool at the Meyer was a great bonus. We had the best time and highly recommend it.

Pete, the owner, gave us a tour of the cabins when my boyfriend and I came for a long weekend. They’re all lovely and clearly well cared for. The place was quiet, cute, and really close to town, and he even brought us a bottle of wine himself. That thoughtful gesture made us feel so welcome. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a charming place to stay.

We were only passing through when I found Camp Comfort while looking for a place to stay, and I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the atmosphere. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. We didn’t meet any staff, but communication was quick and efficient, which worked well in this contactless age. It’s a wonderful property, and I highly recommend it.

Camp Outpost has lovely grounds, thoughtfully designed rooms, comfortable beds, and great communication. Definitely recommend it. The only reason for four stars is that we had no hot water, so we couldn’t enjoy a hot shower or use the jet tub.
