Oscar at reception made the stay even better. He was friendly, professional, and attentive, got me checked in quickly, and took time to answer my questions and share useful information. The room was quiet, clean, and ready for me, and free parking was a big help. You pretty much need a car in this area if you want to explore comfortably. Great value for the money, and I’d happily come back.

I needed to meet a cousin who lives in the ghetto, and I was glad to find this hotel nine miles from her home. It’s right near the highway, at the edge of the area and away from the ghetto. We felt safe leaving the car overnight. At my cousin’s house, we definitely wouldn’t have felt safe. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, with firm beds. The cleaning lady was doing a great job, and the whole place had a wonderful Fabuloso-like smell. I was surprised by the complimentary hot breakfast, which was delicious, especially the hash browns.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and breakfast had plenty to choose from. My room’s AC was loud enough that I couldn’t hear the freeway. Being right by I-5 is handy, though it has its downsides. Traffic was terrible in mid-afternoon when I arrived. Google Maps sent me off the freeway a few miles early and through some very industrial areas, and cars were backed up over the hotel driveway entrance. It got better once I-5 started moving again. One more thing: as of 02-02-2026, the Denny’s next door was a burned-out collapsed building surrounded by security fencing. In case you were thinking of eating there.

Breakfast was decent, though the selection wasn’t very broad. The pool water was cold, definitely not heated, and there were no towels on the shelves. I had to ask the front desk where the amenities were because there were no directions or map. The man at the desk was helpful, but the woman was rude and gave me a very dirty look. At checkout, she either ignored us and kept speaking Spanish to someone else, or spoke to us in Spanish while looking our way as she took the key cards. It felt weird, since it was obvious we didn’t speak the language.
