I counted seven roaches in our smoking room. Maybe they’d just sprayed for bugs, I don’t know, because the roaches weren’t moving very fast. But they were definitely there, under the bed, in the bathroom, by my food, and even in the food on the table. The room was otherwise fine as far as odors go.

The lobby is apparently never open, per management, so you have to use the after-hours window all the time. There’s no breakfast, and unless you ask for room service they won’t come by. The location looks like it may once have been a nice place. Management seems to be doing the bare minimum for cleanliness and service. I’m considering reporting them to local inspectors to find out what’s going on. You get what you pay for, as they say.

This place felt very unsafe. People were yelling outside, with trash and bottles scattered around, and someone was shot here a couple of weeks ago. The property is disgusting, infested with roaches, and very unclean. Staff were rude and wouldn’t accommodate customers. Don’t bring your family to stay here.

The cleaning crew seems on point: there was a heavy bleach smell and not a smudge on the mirrors. The chipped mirrors, dents in the crown molding, and dim room were another story. The TV glitched and had only 3 channels, and there was a roach colony underneath it. Within 5 minutes, roaches were attacking me. The desk guy seemed very familiar with that complaint, but said no other rooms were available, dusting crumbs off his pajamas while staring coldly past me. The two little pillows were a nice touch, and they gave me an extra wash rag for my first week at a new job, even though the room was just for me. Counting the dents almost distracted me from the mirrors. I expected more class from this higher-dollar roach motel, but this will do for now. I wonder if they’ll compensate me for the ER visit for roach eggs in my ears.
