Palace Inn Conroe

Things had seemed okay until the owners told us to leave the property. They laughed at us for being outside. We have three small kids, and they raised the extra charge and said my family needed to get two rooms, so we left.

The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean. The tabletops, bathroom, and drawers were clean too. Still, the room smelled moldy when we first entered, and there was mold on the bathroom wall near the ceiling. I also noticed red and brown spots and drops, plus brown fingerprints, on one wall. The remote buttons didn't work, but it was so late that we didn't call the front desk.

After a long day of travel, we checked in to a room that hadn't been cleaned, even though the bed was made. There were wet, messy rings on the nightstand, and our shoes stuck to the floor. I was exhausted and got ready for bed, but my wife had to go ask about hangers. The clerk first gave her a hard time, saying they didn't provide them. When she pointed out the hanger bars, he brought some over and claimed the marks on the nightstand were from cleaning solution. 🤣 The handheld shower head was hard to use because the wall bracket had broken off. The bed was very comfortable, at least. I've traveled over a million miles on American airlines, and this is one of the worst hotel stays I can remember. I'd read good reviews, but won't return. There's another motel 6 right next door that I might recommend more, though I haven't seen it. I have photos of the problems but couldn't find a way to add them here.

The environment is nice and clean, and the staff are great. I come here to visit my boyfriend, who's staying there right now.
