La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Killeen - Fort Hood

There was a dead roach in our room, and the place seemed poorly maintained. A large hole marked the wall by the stairs, and hand towels were spread near the entrance to catch rainwater. The workers and manager barely spoke English, too. When my husband and I booked by phone, we agreed to the quoted total with tax included, and that full amount was charged before we arrived. Then they added another $17 without explaining it, plus a $75 refundable incident fee they hadn't mentioned on the phone. The $75 was returned, but they refused to refund or explain the extra $17. We were told to contact the manager, who took three days to reach despite our daily calls. He was rude and still wouldn't explain or return the money. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

The room was clean, and the service was good. The AC and hot water worked phenomenally. I had a hard time working at the desk, though, since the only lights were two sconces by the headboard. A table lamp would help. The recently renovated hotel is nice. Getting to it may seem tricky, tucked behind a couple of restaurants just off a major intersection, but you'll find your way. I'd recommend it, La Quinta has usually been a nice place to stay.

I got a great night's rest, and the staff were friendly. The rooms are really clean, and the property is well kept for its age. Breakfast had lots of choices, and the price was a great value.

For the price, it was a good stay. I had a big room with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom, plus daily room service, which some places don't provide. Breakfast was limited, but the scrambled eggs and waffles were great. I had no problems.
